1964 Casey Stengel "Moving From The Polo Grounds To Shea Stadium" Letter
The first skipper in New York Mets history acknowledges a fan in this typed correspondence on Mets letterhead. After spending their first two seasons in the antiquated Polo Grounds, the Amazin's - who were anything but in those early days of the franchise - moved into their own home in 1964. "The Old Perfesser" apologizes for his late response, citing the move to brand spankin' new Shea Stadium. The letter is EX-MT.
