1964 Topps Stand-Ups Complete Set With Display Box & Wrapper and (11) PSA Graded Cards
This lot is a dream come true for a fan of the 1964 Topps Stand-Ups set. Not only will the winner get a high-grade complete set, they will also receive an original wrapper and display box. The 1964 Topps Stand-Ups Set is easily one of the most popular specialty sets of the 1960's. This was the first set of die-cuts since the 1951 Topps All-Stars. The set contains 77 cards- 55 were double-printed while 22 were single-printed causing them to be twice as scarce. The simple green and yellow background gives life and depth to the die-cut players. Considering the dark green, which is very susceptible to chipping, as well as the possibility of the die-cuts coming a part makes this set very difficult to find in high grade. Highlights include PSA 8 (1 card) Hinton, PSA 7 (8 cards) Clemente, Yastrzemski, Pascual, Ellsworth, Causey, Clendenon, Floyd Robinson, and Siebern. PSA 6 (2 cards) Mantle and Aaron. Additional stars include, Banks and Killebrew both signed in blue sharpie EX-MT, Mays EX, Koufax EX+, Brooks Robinson EX-MT, Mathews EX-MT, McCovey, Frank Robinson and Marichal are all NRMT. The balance of the cards presents much nicer than their technical grades of 20% NRMT, 60% EX-MT, and 20% EX. Also included to round out this Stand-Ups collection is an original wrapper and wax box. The wrapper is in great shape vivid yellow coloring just some wear at the corners where the cards were placed. There is a tiny tear to the top right corner. The wrapper is EX. The last piece is something, which is not seen all to often, it is an empty 24 count Stand-Ups wax box. The box presents very well and still has its form, however, it has the technical grade of VG because the year 1962 has been written in blue ball point pen on the top and then partially erased. The bottom right side has an indentation and some creasing.
