1966 Jackie Robinson Signed Check (PSA GEM MT 10 Auto)

1966 Jackie Robinson Signed Check (PSA GEM MT 10 Auto)

Jackie Robinson was one of the foremost civil rights personages in American history. Presented is a Robinson signed check. This year is the 75th Anniversary of Robinson's breaking the Major League baseball 'color barrier" in 1947, and recognition of Robinson's immense achievements abounds. When looking at Robinson's accomplishments, it's easy when focusing on his success in civil rights to unintentionally minimize his enormous talent as a baseball player - and vice versa. Robinson was the National League Rookie of the Year in 1947 and he helped the Dodgers to the pennant. He hit .313 lifetime, was a 7-time All-Star, stole 200 bases, won a NL MVP Award, captured a batting title, and took part in the 1955 World Series as the Dodgers won the team's only World Series as a Brooklyn club. The check was drawn on Freedom National Bank of New York City in the amount of $56.10, and the check was written to "The Camp Shop." Robinson signed in neatly written script as "Jack R. Robinson." The 2.75x6.1" check has been encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as an AUTO GRADE GEM MT 10. The check is in excellent condition. The autograph serves as the signature of a wondrous, exciting Hall of Fame player, and one of the most important trail blazing civil rights pioneers in the history of the United States.
