1967 Fred Gladding Detroit Tigers Game Worn Jersey
Rarely found and highly sought after is this 1967 Detroit Tigers road jersey. This jersey features a MacGregor size 46 tag in the collar along with "Set 2 1967" tag on the front tail with washing instructions. The famous "DETROIT" on the front is in dark blue tackle twill and all original. On the back is a clear outline of a number 20 worn by Gladding in 1967. It was replaced in 1969 with the number 41 in dark blue felt and is still there today. The number 20 was also on the right sleeve but only the outline is visible as it was removed, no one wore number 20 or 41 in 1968 for the Tigers. We know that this jersey was also used in 1969 as it has the outline of the MLB 100th Anniversary patch on the left sleeve. In 1969, jersey was worn by Bob Reed and after the season, The MLB 100th patch was removed. The patch was then taken off at the end of the 1969 season; in 1969 number 41 was worn by Bob Reed. We believe that since the MLB patch was removed it was probably used in 1970 as well in which case Elliot Maddox wore 41. Jersey shows nice use, is very well used but still is in nice shape and retains all its original buttons.
