1968 New York Yankees Team Signed Ball 23 Signatures With Mantle Sweet Spot
Offered is a 1968 New York Yankee signed baseball with the signatures of Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford, along with 21 others. The Yankees finished in fifth place that year in the American League, but the team still had plaers of note in addition to the immortal Mantle and Ford. Two future very successful managers also signed the ball: Hall of Fame skipper Bobby Cox, then a Yankee third baseman, who went on to win 14 straight Division Titles and a World Series with the Atlanta Braves. Dick Howser, then an infielder, managed the Kansas City Royals to the 1985 World Series Championship. Some of the other signatures: Joe Pepitone, Tom Tresh, Gene Michael - later a very successful baseball executive, Mel Stottlemyre - who went 21-12 in '68, and later was a noted pitching coach, Al Downing - who as a Los Ageles Dodger pitcher gave up Hank Aaron's record breaking 715 home run, Bill Robinson, Ruben Amara, and a good pitcher with a world class name - Dooly Womack. and steady star Roy White.
