1969 Baltimore Orioles American League Champions Commemorative Watch

In 1969, three years after winning their first World Series, the Baltimore Orioles compiled a 109-53 regular-season record under the guidance of manager Earl Weaver. This year marked the first season the American League was split into two different divisions (AL East and AL West) and the O’s finished a whopping 19 games ahead of A.L. East runner-up Detroit. And while they swept the Minnesota Twins in three straight games for the A.L. Championship, they were beaten four games to one in the World Series by the N.L. Champion New York “Miracle Mets.”In honor of their latest league championship, the team awarded LeCoultre wrist watches to players, coaches, and various members of the front office staff. This “LeCoultre” commemorative watch has a dial facade that displays the Orioles logo with "American League Champions 1969" and the MLB logo, and “FIRST ALCS" outlining the face in block lettering. The accompanying brown leather band shows its age with cracks and fraying.
