1969 Mets, Roger Maris & Larry MacPhail Autograph Collection
Three cool autographed items comprise this lot. The Mets and Cubs duked it out for the right to be called the first-ever National League Eastern Division Champions. But despite trailing Chicago by 9.5 games at the start of play on August 14, New York caught fire and won 38 of its last 49 games to win the title going away. This 1969 Cubs game program was signed by 22 Mets, including a nice vintage Nolan Ryan, Yogi Berra and Danny Frisella. There are eight signatures inside the 1968 National League Champion Cardinals program, including Red Schoendienst, Dick Sisler and radio announcer Harry Caray. The signed ball is an official American League (MacPhail) ball with a NRMT Maris and other Yankees & Hall of Famers, while the 1934 MacPhail letter is on Reds stationary with original envelopes.
