1969 New York Mets World Champions Shea Stadium Outfield Wall
Not that anyone under the moon (on which men first walked that year) could ever forget the Miracle Mets of 1969, but this large sign was a joyful reminder. It was part of the outfield wall at Shea Stadium in New York in the '80s and '90s and commemorated Gil Hodges, Tom Seaver and the rest of the Amazin's who shocked the Baltimore Orioles and the world in '69 to win their first ever World's Championship. Bright blue right field wall measures approximately 69" x 65" and is in two parts. A white baseball shaped sign saying, "1969 World Champions" is at the center of this unique piece of Shea Stadium. Included is a photograph of this section of wall being installed at Shea. Shows great game use and is in good shape.
