1971 John Lennon Concert Poster (17 x 22")

1971 John Lennon Concert Poster (17 x 22")

In July 1969 Poet/journalist/activist John Sinclair was incarcerated at Jackson Prison on a 9-1/2 to 10 year sentence for possession of two marijuana cigarettes. He was released 29 months later as a result of a mass movement in his behalf which climaxed in the legendary John Sinclair Freedom Rally in Ann Arbor, Michigan on December 10, 1971, headlined by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Stevie Wonder, Bob Seger, Archie Shepp, Charles Moore's CJQ, and a cast of thousands. Ironically December 10, 1970 is when John Lennon’s FBI troubles began. Lennon and Yoko Ono attended and performed at the freedom rally. The activities at the John Sinclair Freedom Rally gave the FBI a reason to go after John Lennon. John Lennon’s FBI file begins with a “Confidential Information Report” which detailed his involvement in the rally in Ann Arbor Michigan. This original poster for Advertising the Freedon Rally comes with an original program from the concert. Both items are VG+. Poster has 3 folds that don't detract from it beauty, program has normal wear.
