1971 Topps Baseball 1st Series Wax Pack GAI 8.5 NM-MT+
By far the most desirable wax year from the 70’s and for good reason-packs from 1971 were issued in much shorter supply due to production limitations (in all sports). This is one of the highest graded 1971 Topps packs available-it is rarely seen above “8”. This example exhibits a vivid and colorful wrapper, superb corners, and a tight seal. It is also the favorite year to collect from the 70’s due to the unique black borders of the cards which often chip when handled-hence the term preferred by collectors--‘black beauties’. 1st Series highlights include Thurman Munson, Pete Rose, Reggie Jackson, Steve Carlton, Blyleven’s rookie, various leader cards, etc. 10 cards are included in this unopened relic.
