1972 Frank Howard Detroit Tigers Game Worn Jersey
Road jersey is all original. Frank Howard was 6'7" and 225 pounds when he played outfield in the Majors for 16 years, mostly for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Senators. Howard was formerly a basketball star for Ohio State University. He was the 1960 National League Rookie of the Year, played in four All-Star Games, and hit 382 home runs. Later he managed the San Diego Padres and the New York Mets. This jersey was from the next to last season of his career, when he played the end of the 1972 season for the Detroit Tigers. Big jersey, it has Wilson tag in the collar written in size that has faded, but the jersey measures as a 54 - Howard was a very big man. "DETROIT" across the front and "HOWARD" and "33" sewn on the back - the name is sewn directly on the back. Strip tag on front tail is "54 72 Set 2". The 54 is the size and 72 the year. Shows moderate use. Again, this is all original and a beautiful jersey.
