1972 Lefty Grove Single-Signed World Series First Pitch Baseball (PSA)
This piece of baseball history is important for two reasons. One being that it is a single-signed Lefty Grove ball in very nice condition and the other being that it is the ceremonial first pitch thrown out for the 4th game by Grove. Official American League (Cronin) ball has some darker spots of toning but none that affect the panel with the signature. In 8/10 ink Grove signed the ball and hand wrote "First ball thrown out in the 4th game of World Series 1972" above his signature. The Athletics, Grove's former team, ended up winning Game 4 and eventually the World Series in a 7-game matchup. During his time on the Athletics, Grove was a four-time AL wins leader, two-time World Series Champion, five-time AL ERA leader and seven-time AL strikeout leader. Comes certified by PSA.
