In conjunction with the 20th Olympiad in Munich, Stan The Man made his first trip to Poland, at the invitation of the Polish Olympics Committee as documented in this assortment of different paper. Includes newspaper clippings, photos of Stan Musial with his wife and members of the Polish Olympic Committee as well as NJ Congressman Henry Helstoski (U.S. Representative who helped arrange the trip), Typed and signed letters from Henry Helstoski, Stan Musial, correspondence from the U.S. House of Representatives, itineraries, handwritten notes, & more. The trip was in recognition of Stan Musial's great success in baseball, and an effort to increase interest and awareness in Poland. A great example of the positive influence a renowned athlete can have on his people. Collection averages EX-MT.
