1974 Bruce Springsteen New Satellite Lounge Poster
Las Vegas February 23, 1974 poster from the first show ever with E Street Band drummer Ernest “Boom” Carter. Carter had never played with the band before and Springsteen wanted to cancel. He reluctantly played under threat of legal action by Club owner Carlo Rossi. The set list was the “most unusual of Springsteen’s career,” was virtually all vintage rock standards that Carter already knew. Mike Appel said it was, “one of those amazing nights where everything worked, where the show was fantastic and not a soul knew that Carter was a new drummer”. EX+.
