1974 Sandy Koufax Handwritten Letter Concerning Mantle/Ford Old Timers' Day 1974
Though he was no fan of the Yankees, Hall of Fame lefty Sandy Koufax is heartfelt in his apology for not being able to attend Old Timers' Day in the Bronx in 1974, offering both his regrets and congratulations to Whitey Ford and Mickey Mantle on their Hall of Fame inductions. Sandy's handwritten response in black Flair pen is on his personal stationery and grades a perfect 10/10 in quality. The lot includes the official invite on Yankees stationery. There are fold lines from having been mailed and a staple hole in the upper left-hand corner but this is otherwise EX.
