1975-76 Bobby Orr Game Worn Boston Bruins Home Jersey
1975-76 marked the great Orr's final appearance in a Bruins uniform. By then his knees were ravaged and he was reduced to playing in only 10 games. Yet, even though he was a shell of his former self, in those 10 games he still put up an astounding 22 points. This jersey is from his final stint with the Bruins. In fact, this could be the last jersey that he ever wore in NHL play at the place that he called home, Boston Garden. Light but definite use. He was most likely only issued two Bruins home jerseys and this is one of them for sure. Wilson size 46 tag in collar is slightly frayed. Bruins crest on front shows mild puckering. "4"' on both sleeves and back are soft and silky. Rare "Massachusetts Bicentennial" patches on both shoulders are original. Inside of jersey shows light balling from rubbing on the pads. Fight strap is the two pieced clip type and has some rusting at the strap. Small stain and stick marks on the left shoulder. Has one team repair under the V-neck. Orr was notorious for pulling on the neck of his jerseys to create more room, usually ripping them. Above the "4" on the back are two spots of glue where a temporary nameplate had been affixed for TV games. These name plates were used only for televised games and were then removed for the non-televised games. One of the best hockey jerseys you'll ever come across.
