1976 Art Berglund Untied States Olympic Hockey Team Ring
Displayed is an appealing team ring from the 1976 United States Men's Olympic Hockey Team. The ring was awarded to Art Berglund, who was the general manager of that hockey squad. After a brief professional hockey playing career in Switzerland and Austria, Berglund performed many functions in hockey, including managing the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 13 years. He managed the 1973-75 United States National Men's Hockey Team, before becoming the general manager of the 1976 Men's Olympic Hockey Team. That team finished in fifth place in the '76 Olympics, scoring 15 goals and giving up 21 tallies. The leading U.S. scorer was Bob Dobak, with three goals and five assists for eight points. Berglund was also a scout for the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Rockies. Around the center stone of the ring is stamped "USA Olympic Team." On the left shank of the ring is stamped 1976, and under that is stamped "hockey." On the right shank of the ring is stamped the Olympic emblem. Marked inside the ring is Jostens 10K. The ring is a size 11. The ring is in NRMT condition, and it came directly from Art Berglund just a few years ago.
