1976 Thurman Munson "To Brian" Single-Signed Baseball (PSA)
Thurman Munson was a fixture in the New York Yankees lineup throughout the 1970s. From his Rookie of the Year campaign in 1970 until his untimely death on August 2, 1979, at the age of 32, the gritty catcher served as the team’s field general and led the Yanks to back-to-back World Series titles in 1977 and ‘78. This lot offers an OAL (MacPhail) baseball signed by Munson in 1976 to a fan. Munson signed the baseball in blue ballpoint ink on the lower panel and added a personalized inscription: “To Brian Best Regards.” The nearly 50-year-old ball shows some toning and minor spots but otherwise is in excellent condition. Comes with full LOA from PSA.
