1978-79 Anders Hedberg New York Rangers Game Worn Jersey

1978-79 Anders Hedberg New York Rangers Game Worn Jersey

In an oft-forgotten but tremendously significant chapter in hockey history, international sensation Anders Hedberg transformed the game with his move from Sweden to the WHA, along with fellow star Ulf Nilsson. His multi-million dollar move to the NY Rangers was the first open acknowledgement of par between the WHA with the NHL, clearing the way for the eventual merger and opening the door for the coming wave of international stars. This debut blue road jersey from his first year in NY is rare style with Rangers shield on front. All original with Cosby size 46 tagging in the collar, "15" on both sleeves and back, and "HEDBERG" sewn on a plate on the back. Heavy knit shows some great use including small blood stains, some pulls, rip at "V" neck, and light pilling inside. Has metal clip-style fight strap inside.
