1979 Baltimore Orioles American League Championship Staff Ring
The 1979 Baltimore Orioles posted a regular-season mark of 102-57 to finish first in the A.L. East. They then beat the California Angels in the ALCS, three games to one, before losing an epic seven-game battle to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series. This American League Championship Staff ring is of the same type awarded to the players and measures size 9.5 and weighs 24 grams. An orange topaz set stone is surrounded by “BALTIMORE ORIOLES” around the bezel with “AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” smaller on the inner bezel. The left shank bears the year (“1979”) above a swinging Oriole logo in relief; the right has the name “BOWMAN” above a script Orioles in relief. Beneath that is a ball which is blank and would have been engraved with a uniform number had it been from a player, leading us to believe this ring was awarded to a staffer. LGB 10k is stamped inside. The ring is in Excellent-Mint condition.
