1979 Rocky Bleier Super Bowl XIII Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Helmet (Photo-Matched)
<p>Exceptional game used and matched Rocky Bleier Pittsburgh Steelers helmet. The helmet has been photo matched to seven games from 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1979. Most important of these games is 1979 Super Bowl XIII played on January 21,1979! It was also matched to an undated 1976 game, 11/28/76, 12/19/76 AFC Divisional Playoff game, 11/27/77, 1978 game vs. Oilers, 12/30/79 AFC Divisional Playoff game. Helmet shows much game usage with the only flaw being the face mask hinges are broken and reattached using wire. A fantastic piece of football history!</p><p><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: 'Times New Roman';">It is always nice when an athlete makes a collection available to the public. But even more impressive is the fact that he has been an inspiration to millions of people across the globe for his heroic battle back to the top of his profession as a football star. The items in his collection tell the story of Rocky’s fabled life. From his days at Xavier High School and his three time selection to the all-state team to his being Captain of the Notre Dame football squad to his battles and injuries sustained in the Vietnam War to his fight back to become a 4 time Super Bowl Champion to his life as a family man to the present day where he continues to inspire with his life story and overall kindness. This collection tells a miraculous story and we are thankful that we have the honor of handling it.
