1979 Secretariat Halter (Photo-Matched)

1979 Secretariat Halter (Photo-Matched)

An important, pivotal piece, this came directly from the head of one of the greatest horses of all. This halter was worn by Secretariat while at Claiborne Farms near Paris, Kentucky. The story is legendary - this halter was obtained right off of the head of this historic thoroughbred in 1979. A fan of Secretariat was visiting the farm and "bribed" a groomsman $250 in order to get him to remove the halter. Comes with a letter from the woman who paid for the halter along with a photo of her with Secretariat while he was STILL wearing this very halter. The traditional brass plate on the halter is five inches long and has the immortal name "Secretariat" right on it. Shows excellent use and has been perfectly photo-matched to the photograph.
