1980-81 Mark Messier Game Worn Edmonton Oilers Jersey
Spectacular second-year Sandow uniform worn by franchise man Mark Messier during his early Oilers days. Heavy mesh in the home colors of the Edmonton Oilers with two-tone tackle-twill “11” on the back and sleeves. This rare style was worn during the second half of the 1980-81 season replacing the earlier knit uniforms. Custom garter style fight strap in the tail with Sandow SK screened on the outer hem. Obvious game use includes a good number of stick marks and slashes and some red staining. This one has had the nameplate removed as the team would strip them for use during the following season. Comes with an extensive package of documentation from Meigray with a Letter of Authenticty on Edmonton Oilers stationery.
