1980 World Champion Billy DeMars Philadelphia Phillies Game Worn Jersey
Straight from their first World Championship season of 1980 comes this vintage powder-blue Phillies jersey, which was worn during road games that season. Hitting coach Billy DeMars sat in the dugout alongside manager Dallas Green that summer in this top, which features his #2 on the front right breast and on the back under "DeMARS." There are Wilson Size 44 and "80 1" tags on the front tail and "DeMars" tag in the neck. The onetime Phillies and Browns shortstop spent 14 of his 19 years in coaching with the Phils. Baseball‚s all-time hits king Pete Rose - a member of the 1980 champs - called DeMars the best hitting coach he ever had.
