1981-82 Rick Heinz Vancouver Canucks Game Worn Jersey (Heinz LOA)

1981-82 Rick Heinz Vancouver Canucks Game Worn Jersey (Heinz LOA)

Great game used 1981-82 Vancouver Canucks jersey comes from the personal collection of goaltender Rick Heinz. Sandow Sporting Knit size Extra Large tag is in collar along with laundering instructions. A far cry from the original white/blue/green color scheme, in the late '80s the franchise rebranded to this explosive palette consisting of a bright yellow background with wide chevron-shaped orange-on-black "V" and no logo down the chest. The orange "V" is screened onto the black cloth portion; Canucks diagonal skate logo is screened on each shoulder, number 31 is on the end of each sleeve and back, screened in black-on-orange. Name is on a plate in individually stitched (not screened) letters above the rear number. Though this style spanned a few seasons, the '81-82 issue is the only one in which players' names were in all black. Though Vancouver was passed over in the original NHL expansion of 1967, the franchise came to life (along with the Buffalo Sabres) in the next expansion of 1970. Love it or hate it, this still stands among the most distinctive looks in NHL history. Comes directly from the personal collection of Rick Heinz, with LOA.
