He earned his second straight National League MVP award during the 1981 season, as well as the sixth of his 10 Gold Gloves. Mike Schmidt - arguably the greatest third baseman in baseball history, wore this signed, game-worn home pinstripe uniform that season, and the ensemble includes jersey, pants, cap and belt. All were worn in 1981 but the dating on the cap cannot be pinned down to 1981 exactly. The Hall of Fame slugger signed the front of the jersey under the logo on the left chest, and his name is chain-stitched in black inside the collar. His number 20 appears on the front right side and under "SCHMIDT" on the back. There is Wilson size 46 and "81 2" tagging on the front tail. The pants - which still have dirt on them - contain "Schmidt 81 2 27" and Wilson Size 35 tags. Even with two months of the ‚81 season lost due to the strike, Schmidt amassed monster numbers that summer, leading the league in homers (31), RBI (91), runs (78), walks (73), on-base percentage (.435) and slugging percentage (.644) while batting .316.
