1983 Carl Yastrzemski Last Game Signed Full Ticket PSA NM 7 Auto 8

1983 Carl Yastrzemski Last Game Signed Full Ticket PSA NM 7 Auto 8

Presented is a rare signed full ticket from Carl Yastrzemski's last game, autographed by the Boston Red Sox icon. The ticket is from the Oct. 2, 1983, game at a sold-out Fenway Park as the Boston Red Sox hosted the Cleveland Indians. Yaz gave an emotional speech to the 33,491 fans before the game, and he took a "victory lap" around the field both before the game and after he was later replaced in left field. Yastrzemski is one of the few Hall of Famers to have succeeded another HOF player at the same position - which occurred when the Red Sox HOF left-fielder Ted Williams retired after the 1960 season, and Yaz became the Boston left fielder in 1961. Yaz played his entire Major League career with the Red Sox, retiring after the 1983 season at the age of 44. Carl had 3,419 hits, and he became the first member of the 3,000-hit club to have at least 400 home runs. Yastrzemski was an 18-time All-Star who was a 7-time Gold Glove winner. The greatest season of Yazstremski's career was in 1967, when Yaz won the AL MVP, took the Triple Crown, and led the Red Sox to the pennant. In Yastrzemski's final game, he went 1-3, with a walk. His final career hit was in the bottom of the 3rd inning as he hit the ball hard into left field off Bud Anderson. Carl's final at bat was a fly-out to left field in the bottom of the 7th inning off Dan Spillner. Then, Yaz was replaced in left field before the start of the 8th inning by Chico Walker. The full ticket, for a $7.00 box seat, measures approx. 1.6x5". Yaz signed the ticket in blue ink. The ticket has been encapsulated and PSA graded NM 7, with a PSA Auto grade of 8.
