1984-85 Marty McSorley Baltimore Skipjacks AHL Game Worn Jersey
1984-85 Marty McSorley Baltimore Skipjacks AHL jersey game worn by the noted enforcer. No tagging is noticed on this black CCM road top, which reads "BALTIMORE" in individually stitched letters arched across a "Jacks" logo on the chest. Number 15 is on each shoulder in black-on-white tackle twill; back number is in gold-on-white below the game, heat-pressed in individual white letters. Jersey boasts custom cut sleeves and shows extensive use with a pair of tears near the tail, stick marks, heavy use to the crest, and swelling of numbers on back. McSorley did actually have some hockey skill though he made his living primarily with his fists. After playing his first two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he won two Stanley Cups in as many years and so endeared himself to icon Wayne Gretzky that he became known as "Gretzky's bodyguard," giving the phenom room to work as opposing players were generally afraid to touch the Great One in fear of McSorley's wrath. In fact, when Gretzky left for the Los Angeles Kings in 1988-89, the pugilist made the move along with him.
