1984 Brooke Canvas Photo Silkscreen by Francesco Scavullo (57x52”)

1984 Brooke Canvas Photo Silkscreen by Francesco Scavullo (57x52”)

Monmouth piece is from the renowned series of canvas photo silkscreens that Scavullo was famous for. This magnificent piece is from his greatest discovery Brooke Shields, who he photographed for her original Ivory Snow ad as a baby. This shows here a budding woman at 19 years of age. This haunting and erotic image shows her as extremely womanly and sexual wearing jewelry, teased hair and with piecing handpainted green eyes. Signed at the top “Scavullo 84” this is beautifully framed to 57x52” and would absolutely make any room, transforming it onto a trendy NYC loft or regal mansion. Originally sold for $8,000, this image is perhaps the most famous and respected of his silkscreens. NRMT. Francesco Scavullo is acknowledged to be the dominant influence on American fashion and beauty. He has photographed almost every celebrated man, woman, and child in the world today. His photographs have graced the covers of magazines such as Rolling Stine, Life, Time, Town & Country, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Mademoiselle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Harpers and Queen, L’Official, Woman and Max to name a few. Having done covers for Cosmopolitan for 30 years, he sadly passed away earlier this year.
