1985 Donnie Shell Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey (Photo-Matched)
Part of the celebrated Steel Curtain defenses of the 1970's, Donnie Shell played his entire 14-year career in Pittsburgh and appeared in 201 games for the Steelers - the second most in team history. Shell retired with the most interceptions (51) in NFL history for a strong safety, and was a five-time Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro three times. He won four Super Bowls with the Steelers and was selected to their All-Time Team in 2007. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, and has been in the top 15 in balloting for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This black, home jersey was game worn by Shell in 1985. It has an "85" year tag and a Sand-Knit size 46 tag on the tail. The jersey shows heavy use with abrasions, scuffs, paint transfers and loose threads, as well as 22 team repairs. It has been photo-matched to an undated image. All jerseys come directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
