1986-89 Barry Bonds Game-Used Bat (33.75")
There is one gorgeous splotch where cork and wound yarn met white ash on this early Barry Bonds Louisville Slugger "H238". It's at the beginning of the meat, and knowing Bonds' power the ball probably carried a long way. There is also a ghastly crack on the handle, proving that even a player like Bonds sometimes cannot handle the inside fastball. The contrasts make a telling souvenir. There is a handwritten "24," the number he wore to honor his godfather, Willie Mays, under the knob. The burned brand reads simply BONDS. Striated wood shows other nicks and scrapes at the hands of Barry in the late 1980s as a Pittsburgh Pirate.
