1987-88 Garnet "Ace" Bailey Edmonton Oilers Clarence Campbell Bowl Championship Trophy – Stanley Cup Season (Bailey Family Provenance)
Beautiful and poignant keepsake from the NHL career of Garnet "Ace" Bailey. This is an individual-sized replica of the Clarence Campbell Bowl, which is presented annually to the champions of the league's Western Conference. Hexagonal wood base measures 4" across and 3.25" high, with Boffey Montreal sticker on felt bottom. The miniaturized bowl has the separate lid and is engraved Clarence S. Campbell Bowl 1968, in recognition of the first year it was presented. Opposite side has engraved, Garnet Bailey, Edmonton Oilers, 1987-88; some minor scratching is present and the bowl displays beautifully. Bailey was a scout that season for the Oilers, who captured their fourth Stanley Cup in a 5-year span. Sadly, Bailey's career brought him to scout for the Los Angeles Kings, for whom he was traveling on September 11, 2001, as he perished when his flight was crashed into the World Trade Center. Comes with LOA stating the original owner was given the trophy by a member of the Bailey family when cleaning out her home in 2020.
