1989 Dave Andreychuk Photo-Matched Buffalo Sabres Game Worn Jersey - Matched to Game 1 of 1989 Semi-Finals! (Photo-Matched)

Important Update (11/16, 11:57am): An additional photo-match has just been made to Game 1 of the 1989 Adams Division Semi-Finals on April 5th, 1989 via a YouTube video (see attached screenshot above). We should also note there is an outline where we can see evidence of there being a previous nameplate, and another outline of where the assistant captain "A" patch was on the front of the jersey. Since we have photo-matches to the end of the 1988-89 season, and preseason of the 1990-90 season, we can conclude that the current nameplate was put on during the offseason.

Hockey Hall of Famer Dave Andreychuk was a well-traveled NHL player who competed for eight different teams over 23 hard-hitting seasons. A left winger who could score (640 goals, 698 assists), Andreychuk is likely best remembered for his outstanding playing days with his first NHL team: the Sabres. During his time in Buffalo, Andreychuk netted 368 goals and 436 assists for 804 total points over 837 games. After playing in Buffalo for 11 years, Andreychuk joined the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1993. After nearly four seasons with the Leafs, he moved on to the New Jersey Devils for four more years and eventually scored his 500th career goal in New Jersey. After playing in Boston, Colorado, and for one more year with Buffalo, his final four seasons were spent with Tampa Bay where he finally captured his ultimate goal, the Stanley Cup, in 2003-04. Andreychuk is currently ranked 15th on the NHL’s all-time goal scoring list and his 1,338 career points place him 31st overall in league history.Offered here is a game-used Dave Andreychuk Buffalo Sabres jersey that he wore during the 1988-89 campaign, his seventh season with the Sabres. The blue polyester sweater with gold trim shows excellent game use, with plenty of pilling, scuffing and board paint transfers across the Sabres embroidered logo, sleeves, and on Andreychuk’s gold tackle twill numbers ("25") outlined in white on the back and sleeves. The tackle twill numbers measure 3.5” tall on either sleeve and 11” tall on the back of the jersey. His last name ("ANDREYCHUK") stretches 16" across the shoulder blades in gold tackle twill letters that measure 3" tall sewn onto a blue nameplate. Several stick marks, unrepaired cuts, and a noticeable rip at the base of the front collar add to its allure. A CCM embroidered logo appears on the left front tail with a "Maska Ultrafil" manufacturer’s tag sewn into the back collar with size 54 written in pen. The original fight strap remains intact to the inside back player numbers and features a custom wrap. A true test of time that reflects the effort put forth by one of the NHL's greatest veteran warriors.
