1989 Wayne Gretzky 1851st Record Point Game Used Stick
On October 15, 1989, Wayne Gretzky scored in overtime to surpass Gordie Howe's Career NHL Points Record of 1850. This Titan TPM 2020 is one of thirteen sticks used in this historic game and each was dated, signed and numbered by Gretzky. Wayne owns the record breaker (#2) and two others, (#1 & #4) are on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. The stick is dated and displays the bold black autographs of Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe. A gold plate attached to the blade reads "Number 3/13 used by Wayne Gretzky on the night he became hockey's all-time leading scorer, October 15, 1989". The stick is correctly stamped and taped and has the black "Gripper" handle used by Wayne throughout the 1988-89 season. This milestone gamer is displayed in a large shadowbox frame along with a pair of game pucks and three framed photos: one of Wayne and Gordie, an Oilers action shot and an autographed Kings 8x10. This stick was donated by Walter Gretzky to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in 1989 and was the grand prize in a raffle held in 1991. Included is a Letter of Authenticity from the Kidney Foundation and a photo of Walter Gretzky presenting the stick. Your chance to obtain this monumental museum piece from Wayne's most significant milestone.
