1991-92 Alan May Washington Capitals Game Worn Jersey

1991-92 Alan May Washington Capitals Game Worn Jersey

This visually attractive jersey was game worn by Alan May, a right wing who played for five NHL teams from 1988-1995, five of those years with Washington. May was a rough player who received 221 penalty minutes in the 1991-92 season while scoring 6 goals and adding 9 assists. Obviously, May earned his salary with his toughness. The red, white, and blue jersey Washington Capitals jersey has Capitals written in blue letters on the front, except for the letter "L", which is written in red and shaped as a hockey stick. The front has six stars, three each in red and blue. "Washington" is in red letters on the front. The jersey features the special NHL 75th Anniversary Patch on the right chest. All NHL teams and players wore this patch for the 1991-92 season. The NHL began play in 1917-18 when the National Hockey Association suspended play, and the new National Hockey League was formed. The red, white, and blue jersey has the name "May" in blue letters with red trim on the back over the number "16", also in blue with red trim. Each sleeve has the number "16", also in blue with red trim. The tag in the collar is written in both English and French, and it states the jersey was manufactured by Maska, is 100% polyester, and was made in Canada. A neck tag shows the size as "54". The lower front is tagged "CCM" and also includes the tag "NHL." Use includes stick marks, light burns and some piling. The jersey's 75th NHL Anniversary Patch adds value.
