1991 Chuck Knoblauch Topps All Star Rookie Award (Knoblauch Letter)

1991 Chuck Knoblauch Topps All Star Rookie Award (Knoblauch Letter)

In 1959, the Topps Chewing Gum company began the practice of selecting its own All-Star Rookie Team. Players selected to the team were honored with an All-Star Rookie Cup added to their respective baseball card the next year. What most fans do not realize is that in addition to placing a cup on the player's card, Topps also presents each player with a physical presentation cup. Offered here is the cup issued to Minnesota Twins second baseman Chuck Knoblauch for his selection to the Topps 1991 All-Star Rookie Team. This cup originates directly from Knoblauch and is accompanied by a one-page signed LOA from him, as well as two signed photos of Knoblauch accepting the award on the field in 1992. The gold-colored cup, which is mounted upon a wood base, is engraved "Topps/All-Star Rookie/1991." The plaque on the base reads "Chuck Knoblauch 2B/Minnesota Twins." The cup displays light tarnishing and is in Excellent to Mint condition. 6x6x7 inches.
