1992 Barry Bonds Game Worn Road Jersey

1992 Barry Bonds Game Worn Road Jersey

Bonds' jerseys from his Pirate days have long been rare items, and getting rarer lately due to comparisons of his size between then and now, telling the story of the greatest player of all time's genesis as a skinny athlete juiced on nothing more than raw talent and desire. This Bonds gray knit road jersey was worn in 1992, his 7th big league season, when he copped his 2nd MVP in 3 years and was already regarded as the best player in the game, hitting .311 with 34 homers, 104 RBIs and a league-leading 109 runs and .624 slugging average. The following year, his career took a fateful turn with his free-agent signing with the Giants. "Pittsburgh" is sprawled across the chest with "24" underneath, and "Bonds" and "24" is on verso in black on gold tackle twill. A Pirate patch is on the left sleeve. Interior tail tagging is "Rawlings (size) 44" with "Set 1 1992" flag tag. Moderate use. Great get for dedicated Bonds collectors.
