1994 Wayne Gretzky Ninety-Niners Game Worn Jersey

1994 Wayne Gretzky Ninety-Niners Game Worn Jersey

Labor strife between owners and players of the National Hockey League resulted in a lockout at the start of the 1994-95 NHL season. The opening months of play were canceled before the new agreement was reached, and during that dark time, Wayne Gretzky formed his own traveling All-Star team. The Ninety-Niners afforded players the chance to stay in game shape while traveling the world and raising money for charity, and the squad posted a 5-3 record over eight games played. This CCM jersey was worn by Gretzky, it's all original and shows light use and this is not one of the limited edition jerseys that was sold to the public; this was actually one of Wayne's jerseys and came from someone who worked with the team while they were on tour. "Ninety-Nine" on the front in script is embroidered right into the jersey, "99" is on both sleeves and back, and "GRETZKY" is sewn on a nameplate above the number on the back. A Time-Warner patch is on the right sleeve and LA Gear patch on the left sleeve, with NHLPA patch on the right chest and captain's C on the left chest. Maska Ultrafil tag and size 56 are in the collar, CCM is on the tail on both left and right sides with a piece of velcro sewn inside the back hem on the right side. To top it off, it is beautifully signed and numbered on the back in 8/10 black Sharpie by the Great One himself.
