1996 Atlanta Olympic Tourch
America hosted the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, celebrating the centennial of the modern Olympics, as can be seen here on this torch’s upper gold band - an engraved design with flames above the five Olympic rings, the “100” of the centennial and “Atlanta 1996.” Band encases 22 metal rods which house the burner of the symbolic flame. A fine wood handle and lower gold band - with all of the host cities and their years engraved - make this a piece worthy of the event’s world appeal. Mint condition.
