1996 Barry Bonds All Star Game Worn Cleats
This pair of shimmering black and orange Nike cleats, custom made for Barry Bonds by Nike, were All-Star game-used in 1996, and FBI-used from 2004-2006. These cleats were part of an FBI investigation in which Bonds and the FBI confiscated items from collector, Jeff Kranz. They held these cleats along with 13 other Bonds items for over 2 years, after which the items were then returned to Mr. Kranz. No charges have been filed and no wrong-doings by Mr. Kranz or others from the Bonds camp have been proven. These cleats better represent Mr. Bonds’ feats on the field, and certainly show wear with field dirt stuck in the metal cleats, and in some of the stitching. Both tongues carry the All-Star logo patch, “Philly All Star Game 1996.” Left shoe’s tongue is dirt-stained in area similarly grimed on shoe’s outside high top. History on and off the field. These shoes very nicely state Nike’s catch phrase with orange stitching on backs of shoes: (Left) “Just”, (Right) “Do It.”
