Several factors combine to make this jersey an outstanding specimen. Nike's foray into the hockey market included this 1996 offering, perhaps the most stunning Team USA style ever offered and this particular sweater was game worn by one of the best American-born defensemen ever, Brian Leetch. This white jersey bears the flowing USA crest across the chest and is highlighted by star-spangled red, white, blue and gray colors streaked across the bottom. The pre-season tournament featured the world's top players at their best, culminating in Team USA's thrilling victory over Canada in the finals. Nike size 56 tagging is in the collar with number "2" on both sleeves and back, "LEETCH" sewn on a name plate on back and World Cup of Hockey patch on the left sleeve. Jersey shows light use. Perhaps because of the intricacy of the design, Nike actually made very few of these for public sale, presenting a challenge in finding this style in any condition.
Addendum: This jersey was worn by Leetch pre-tournament.
