1996 Carnell Lake Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey (Photo-Matched)
For the first half of his career, Carnell Lake was somewhat overshadowed on a defense that included Rod Woodson and Greg Lloyd, but Lake certainly got his due in the late 1990's, when he was selected to the Pro Bowl five times. This black, home jersey was worn by Lake in 1996 when he was in the prime of his career. There is a "96" year tag and size 46 Pro Line tag on the tail. It has blue paint transfers (from a Colts uniform), scuffs, abrasions and six team repairs. The jersey has been photo-matched to December 29, 1996 vs. the Colts. There is evidence of a Starter logo patch on both sleeves, but it was removed and replaced with the Nike swoosh for the 1997-98 season. Lake was named to the Steelers All-Time Team in 2007 and currently serves as the team's defensive backs coach. All jerseys come directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
