1997 Chuck Knoblauch Silver Slugger Award
The Silver Slugger Award is given out by Hillerich & Bradsby every year to the best offensive player at each position in both the American and National leagues. This Slugger trophy was awarded to second baseman Chuck Knoblauch for his 1997 season. Sourcing directly from Knoblauch himself, the trophy reads, "Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Silver Slugger Award Presented to Chuck Knoblauch - 2B Minnesota/Member of the Sporting News National League Offensive Team 1997." The trophy then goes on to list all the other AL position winners that year, including Tino Martinez; Nomar Garciaparra; Matt Williams; Ken Griffey Jr.; Dave Justice; Juan Gonzalez; Ivan Rodriguez; and Edgar Martinez. Signed and inscribed "Enjoy the 1997 Silver Slugger Award!!" by Chuck Knoblauch on the back in black. NRMT condition overall with some wear noticed on the back.
