1998-99 Patrick Roy Colorado Avalanche Playoff Game Worn Jersey (Photo-Matched, MeiGray LOA)
With a playing career that spanned nearly two decades, Patrick Roy is undoubtedly among the pantheon of the greatest hockey goalies of all time. This Roy jersey is game worn during the ’99 Avalanche playoff run and photo-matched to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. The 1998-99 Avalanche featured a host of stars including Peter Forsberg, Joe Sakic, and Theoren Fleury, who they acquired mid-season to buttress an already strong attack, but Roy’s prowess in net was unquestionably the team’s greatest asset and biggest attraction. This all-original jersey from a three-time Conn Smythe Trophy winner has an Avalanche crest on the front and the number 33 on both sleeves and the back. "ROY" is sewn on a plate on the back with an accompanying signature in 8/10 black Sharpie on the number. The jersey also features a CHS patch on the left sleeve – commemorating the Columbine High School massacre which occurred in April of 1999 – and was worn during the playoffs. The roman numerals “VI” appear on the Starter tag to signify the 6th set of the season. The jersey has endured only light use and comes with an LOA. Jersey has also been photo-matched to Game 7 of the 1999 Western Conference Finals.
