19th Century Non Sport Tobacco Collection (350+)
Huge Collection of Late 19th Century Nonsport Tobacco Cards. Presented here is a substantial collection of 341 tobacco cards from 8 different sets plus assorted larger premiums, all vintage late 19th century. Collection includes: - 113 ‘Between the Acts and Bravo Cigarettes’ (N342) cards, dated ‘1872’ and produced by Thomas H. Hall Tobacco. Mostly actresses, 90% in very presentable VG or VG-EX condition but affixed to a paper backing in groups of 3. Still, seldom seen and in reasonably nice condition; - Recruit and Sub Rosa Cigars, complete set of 50 ‘Types of Nations’ cards. Mostly GD-VG with a handful better and some lesser; - 18/25 from Murad’s Post Card series; sharp colors but some with back damage including writing. All had been neatly folded in half at one time but still present nicely; - N133 Duke’s Cameo Cigarettes (triple folder appearing fronts), representing 30 states, plus an uncut partial sheet of 4! Mostly GD-VG with a handful nicer; - Complete set of 24 ‘Cowans Noted Cats’. Gorgeous color, 80% EX to EX-MT condition; - Collection of 35/50 Movie Stars by Coupon Cigarettes (division of Liggett & Myers). Majority are EX, with a few better and some lesser; - 23 Rulers of Foreign Countries cards by Le Roy Cigars, mostly EX; - 48 Duke’s Cameo Cigarettes collection of 48 triple-folders, representing different countries of the world. Mostly EX or better, with a good handful approaching EX-MT. - Larger premiums from Piedmont, Old Judge, Newsboy and Turkish Trophies. 13 in all – big, bold with nice colors. Most are 5 x 8” or larger and in EX condition. - One 8 x 11” ‘No Tax Plug Tobacco Art Gem’ premium, particularly bold colors and still retaining the coupon Serial # at bottom.
