2016 Phil Bourque Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Championship Ring

2016 Phil Bourque Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Championship Ring

Offered in the following lots are five Pittsburgh Penguins StanleyCup Championship rings, all coming from the personal collection offan-favorite player/announcer Phil Bourque. The first two are from hisplaying days with the remaining three coming from his career in thebroadcast booth. With five Stanly Cup titles spanning from 1990-91 to2016-17, the Pens are one of the most successful organizations in theNHL's modern era. Only seven franchise employees have received ringsfrom all five Cup runs and only three won as players - with the othertwo being Mario Lemieux and Bob Errey - and though they are offered hereseparately, this is also very likely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunityto earn a complete set of five player-caliber Pittsburgh Penguinschampionship rings. All are in NM or better condition, each comes withLOA.
By now something of an institution in the broadcast booth, Bourque saw the 2015-16 Penguins capture the organization's fourth Stanley Cup and was rewarded with yet another ring of the same type awarded to players. Unlike previous years, "Stanley Cup Champions" does not encompass the whole bezel and is much smaller, allowing more room to pack in genuine diamonds in and around the skating penguin logo. Left shank reads BOURQUE/PITTSBURGH PENGUINS above the skating penguin logo. The right shank has four Stanley Cups surrounding the year 2016. Ring is size 11.5 and weighs 46 grams, with "Jostens 10K" engraved in the band. After placing 2nd in the Metropolitan Division during the regular season, the Penguins continued to assert the post-season bona fides, surviving a tough Eastern Conference before defeating the San Jose Sharks in 6 games in the finals for Cup number 4.
