Albert G. Spalding Signed Book

Albert G. Spalding Signed Book

A.G. Spalding is considered by many the single most important character in the history of America's national pastime. It all began in the 1870's when he was the premier pitcher in the game, once winning 47 games in one season. It was one of the six years in a row that he led the league in victories. "America's National Game" is signed by the author on the first page following an inscription to Spalding's cousin. After his signature, "Point Loma Calif Dec. 25, 1911." The book is a first edition (copyright 1911) and the contents are NRMT. Front and back covers are EX. Signature and inscription are NRMT. Comes with a vintage letter from the wife of Mr. Warner to whom this book was personalized. The letter states that it is to K.M. Landis and states that Mr. Warner wanted him to have this book. So, not only was this a gift from A.G. Spalding to his cousin, but it was also in the library of the first baseball commissioner.
