Allen Bourbeau’s 1984 World Junior Championships & 1988 Olympics Hockey Collection Including Game Worn Jerseys
Allen Bourbeau first represented the United States in international competition at the 1984 World Junior Championships in Helsinki, Finland. After an illustrious career at Harvard University, Bourbeau would again wear the stars and stripes at the 1988 Winter Olympics held in Calgary, Alberta. While the games were played in the birthplace of ice hockey, the Canadian-hosted games would not yet feature National Hockey League players. This lot contains three jerseys worn born Bourbeau during his team spent with Team USA in 1984 and 1988, as well as his official Olympic jacket. The World Junior Championships jersey is a CCM Ultrafil size 50 with Bourbeau’s #8 stitched on the back and each sleeve with his name sewn onto the back with a shoulder-to-shoulder length nameplate. The 1988 jerseys - one blue and one white – are CCM Air-Knits and feature the Team USA crest on the front and Bourbeau’s name and #20, all stitched in tackle twill numbers and letters. All show light game use but no repairs are evident. The jacket is an Adidas large, white with stars and stripes motif, “USA” on back and Olympic crest sewn into the sleeve. Also included are a pair of white hockey socks with blue and red stripes with small holes from use, and a white 1988 Olympics USA sweatband. All items are in excellent condition and came directly from Bourbeau, who was a draft choice of the Philadelphia Flyers and scored three goals at the 1988 Olympics, at which the USA finished 7th. A great opportunity to own these pieces of US Hockey and Olympic history.
