A lot of history is packed into this Official American League (Harridge) baseball. Names written in bold in the annals of baseball appear proudly in 9/10 ink on this 1959 signed Hall of Famers ball. Ty Cobb, Jackie Robinson, Roger Maris, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Casey Stengel, Gabby Hartnett, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Stan Musial, Warren Spahn and Bill Dickey comprise 12 of the 16 total signatures. Many of these players, now decades after their death, continue to be household names. The ball was personalized by Cobb, signed September 20, 1959, who would pass away just two years later. New York legends abound on the ball, with Robinson, DiMaggio, and Mays forming a holy trinity from baseball's heyday in the city. In 1959, Maris was on the brink of a meteoric rise, as he would be traded to the Yankees at the conclusion of the '59 season and win an MVP Award the subsequent year. The ball itself rates 7/10.
