American Pharoah Horseshoe Nail & Mane Hair from the 2015 Breeder's Cup Classic "Grand Slam" (2)

American Pharoah Horseshoe Nail & Mane Hair from the 2015 Breeder's Cup Classic "Grand Slam" (2)

Since 1978, thirteen horses have entered the gate of the Belmont Stakes vying for the elusive Triple Crown, only to be defeated by the race aptly coined, "The Test of the Champion." American Pharoah ended the 36 year Triple Crown drought by winning the 2015 Belmont Stakes by 5 1/2 lengths and became just the 12th horse since 1875 to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. A winner of nine races from just eleven starts, 'Pharaoh earned $8,650,300 – culminated by this smashing, farewell victory in the 2015 Breeders’ Cup. This collection of American Pharoah memorabilia features one of his horseshoe nails used during his apex victory in the BC Classic and a genuine lock of his tail hair. The nail was personally acquired from his farrier immediately after his race shoes were removed. The 7x9" plaques are solid bamboo with specially-designed artwork. The plaque recognizes the nail to be #3 of 5 acquired on the afternoon of November 1st, 2015, one day prior to traveling to Coolmore Stud where he currently commands a $200,000 stud fee - one of the highest in history for a first year stallion.
